The other day, during my keyword research, I was researching some popular keywords. What caught my surprise is that the keyword with most searches in that particular category was Free Money Online'. This got me thinking about people not having a clue about how money works and what it stands for. Hopefully, this article can shed some light on how money works and what you need to do to earn it. Kindly note that I said earn it'.

The core problem with today's generation is their idea of the purpose of money, which I feel is totally opposite to its actual purpose. If you are a baby-boomer, you would be having a good perspective about the generation before and after you. The last generations have had 3 different philosophies of money:

In the early 1900s, people used to earn money and save it. Because at that time money was a derivative of gold. From 1970s onwards, people used to earn money and spend it. The baby-boomer trend. In the 2000s, people are spending money and then figuring out a way to earn it. The trend of plastic money, aka Credit Cards

But if you look at the history of money and why it was introduced in the first place, then you would understand why today's generation idea of money is totally opposite. In the early days, if I was a goat farmer and produced milk, and you were a chicken farmer and produced eggs, I would exchange a portion of my milk in return for your eggs. It's called the barter system. But since it was tedious to walk around with your produce everywhere you go, the concept of money was introduced as a common denominator for exchange of goods or services. So basically, money is a form of guarantee for some product or service to be exchanged.

Now look at the keyword that had the most popularity, Free Money Online'. Do you think it falls in line with the purpose of money? In fact it's just the opposite. People have no idea that you have to have a product or service to exchange in order to make money. No one gets it for free! There is no such thing as Free Money Online'. You know, Jim Rohn said that, "Life responds not to need, but to deserve". Write it down on a sheet of paper and keep it in front of your eyes so that you see it everyday. Let me expand on it a bit by asking you, "How do you think you can become Deserving'?" The answer lies in the last 7 letters of the word itself by Serving'. That is the secret, guys. If there was one secret to success and to make money, then this is it. You have to serve first, for deserve to come later. Not the other way around, as so many of today's generation believe.

So the next time you think about making more money, whether it is online or offline, ask yourself, "What more can I do to serve more people?" The answer and the application of that question will make you deserving enough to earn more money.
